Worship Options for Sunday 6/28, 9am – CONFIRMATION SUNDAY!
We look forward to joining you in common worship, whether in-person or online! Please also know that your pastors and other leaders are continuing to develop still more creative ways to safely foster worship and connecting as the Body of Christ. We also encourage you to continue being safely creative in connecting to each other and serving your neighbors!
CUSTODIAN HELP WANTED for 2 Weekends: July 12th & 19th
Help! I need somebody. Help! Not just anybody. Help! You Know I need someone. Help!" –– The Beatles
Our custodian, Jeff Rockwell, will be leaving for Northern Wisconsin for a 2 week work trip. We are looking for a volunteer to prepare the church for worship on Sunday, July 12th and Sunday, July 19th. It will be a small time commitment (1-2 hours) on either Friday or Saturday prior to those Sundays.
Jeff will meet with volunteers and go over the details before he leaves on July 5th. He will make sure you have everything you need to get the job done. Please talk to Jeff after service or contact Jenna in the church office via email splcsecretary@att.net if you are willing to serve the Kingdom in this manner. It would be so greatly appreciated!
MEMBERS LOGIN on Our Website UPDATED!
Pastor Borger and Jenna revamped the Member Login tab section of our website. It’s more user friendly, less cluttered, updated and super pretty. Things you will find there include: Organizational documents, Church Directory, Connections (past 12 months), MLT & Voters Assembly Minutes (past 12 months), Financial Stewardship documents and our Financial Activity (past 12 months.) Go there for fine reading and to come up to speed with the in’s and out’s of St. Peter. The Member Login tab section is password protected so remember to use our standard password (if you are uncertain or can’t remember the password contact Jenna and she will talk you off the cliff, I mean, talk you thru it.)
Videoconferencing Change
As you may recall, the licenses for Go-to-Meeting are set to expire at the end of June. We thank Randy Eveler for the opportunity to use GTM, at both St. Peter and RLA!
As we now move forward with funds from the grant, we have decided to switch the congregation over to Zoom. Zoom allows twice the number of cameras, has a “raise hand” feature that will allow folks on the phone to show up better, and also has a few other additional helpful features. Note that we thus will have BOTH Go to Meeting AND Zoom through the end of the month. The leaders of groups that are still meeting will let their members know when and how they will transition over. A new guide for all groups using zoom is available on the blog: https://splcm.org/zoom/.
PORTALS OF PRAYER daily devotionals
It occurred to me that many of you would normally pick up your copy of Portals of Prayer devotions for the 3rd quarter at church — but many of you aren’t coming yet. Please email me at splcsecretary@att.net or call the office at 574-255-5585 and leave a voicemail if I don’t answer and let me know you would like a copy (or 2) of Portals of Prayer mailed to you and I will get them in the mail first thing next week. We do have 6 large print editions so also let me know if you would like large print instead of regular small print. Also, for those of you that ARE coming to church, maybe offer to deliver to someone not yet coming back to church and leave me a line of who you delivered to. Thanks, Jenna
Jenna office hours update
I am currently back to my regular hours in the office: Monday-Thursday 9am – 2pm & Fridays 9am – 12pm. I will not be in the office Fridays, 6/26 and 7/3. Please follow the guidelines posted at the door of my office before entering. I have a compromised immune system so your cooperation with these guidelines is greatly appreciated. Until we meet again…Jenna
RLA Summer Family Fun Nights instead of VBS this Summer
July 8, 15, 22, 29 from 6-8pm outdoors at RLA. In place of VBS, this summer RLA is hosting these fun nights of games and crafts to give families a chance to connect and have some fun. Bring your own drinks and bug spray. The evenings will be a mix of free play and group games. The event is open to RLA/church families and our VBS friends. Fun and popsicles provided.
