Save the Date: Regular Voters’ Assembly – Nov 9 after worship
The MLT cordially invites the congregation to our regular Fall Voters’ Assembly on November 9th. The primary agenda will be the 2026 Kingdom Spending Plan (budget).
Cheeseballs!
SPLC makes cheeseballs as a fundraiser each year. Many hands make light work AND much fun is had by all. Mixing will take place on Tuesday, October 21 beginning at 3pm. Wrapping will take place on Thursday, October 23 beginning at 5pm. Please sign up under the slat wall to indicate your ability to help.
All orders MUST be received by Monday, October 20. Cheeseballs are made only to order – no extras will be made, so get your orders in! Forms are on the table under the slat wall. Orders will be ready for pick-up starting Sunday, October 26. Each cheeseball is $10. See Jill or Paula with any questions.
You’re Invited: the Wedding of Tori Homann and Max Wilmot
Tori and Max would like to cordially invite the congregation to their wedding, which Pastors Clark and Borger will officiate here at St. Peter on Saturday, October 25th at 3pm. To be clear, they cannot of course invite everyone to the reception. But St. Peter holds a special place in Tori’s heart, and she and Max would love for you to join them for the wedding service itself!
Outreach Opportunity: Cub Scout Halloween Party, October 30th
Our Cub Scout Pack has invited us to help host their Halloween Party here at St. Peter on the evening of Thursday, October 30th. If you could assist with supervision of kids and/or helping run a few easy stations designed by the Pack, please contact Dave Gurnee at dave.gurnee@gmail.com.
New Parenting Group Beginning – THIS Sunday, Oct 19th
Calling all parents! We are forming a new small group for the purpose of 1) fellowship and getting to know one another, 2) sharing the joys and concerns of parenting, and 3) answering President’s Harrison’s call from NYG to steer teens (especially) toward LCMS vocations. We will meet each month after worship, beginning Sunday, October 19 at 11:45. If possible, please sign up on the sheet under the slat wall so we know how many to expect, and can plan for adequate child supervision. Any parent is welcome. See Renee with questions.

Activity Bags for Children during Worship
Have you noticed? We keep a variety of canvas bags on a small coat tree (at the back of the pews) for young children to use during worship. Each bag contains a variety of tools to help children enter the spirit of worship and participate according to their own developmental level. For many years, we had a faithful servant who maintained and updated these bags regularly, but who has stepped away from this ministry going forward.
We need to know: does YOUR family make use of these bags? Please let Renee know!
If we have enough families who are using them, we also need someone to take over their care. This involves checking each bag each week to see what needs to be removed, replenished, or cycled through. We have a huge store of potential materials that can go in the bags so they stay interesting to the children. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please speak with Renee to get started. Thanks!
Sunday Servants Gather Before Worship
All who help lead the Divine Service gather promptly at 10:05am to take 3 minutes to prepare their hearts and minds for worship. If you are serving as altar guild, usher, crucifer/acolyte, lector, greeter, tech person, elder, musician/dancer, doorkeeper or other HEART member, etc. on a particular Sunday, please come together for quick introductions and short prayer led by Deaconess Amy Smessaert. Together, we will ask God to bless our service to God’s people as we live connected in spiritual formation in Christ.
Mid-Week Bible Studies
THURSDAY MORNING, 9am at church:
This fall we are doing a study on the book of Isaiah. Connect with Paula Ryan or call Renee in the office (574-255-5585) if you are interested in joining.
FRIDAY NIGHT: 1st and 3rd Fridays 6:30pm: Connect with John Schroeder or Mike Fonck if you’re interested in joining. This year, we are studying the book of Acts, featuring a companion video series that we’ll watch together.
Pick Your Next Usher Date!
Thanks to everyone who has served as an usher or part of an usher team. It’s time to pick another date to serve! Please sign up on the Sunday Servants sheet on the slat wall. You can see the specific list of duties, with video demos, here. A veteran usher will assist you and teach you one extra duty beyond communion each time you serve.
