As Pastor mentioned in his sermon this morning, as we begin our 40-day Lenten Journey to Easter, we would like to invite EVERYONE to an exciting, six-session small group opportunity. Small Groups are one of the best ways to keep a congregation connected and growing. Thus, we would love to see even more people in small groups here at St. Peter–especially as 18 new members join the Body.
This is a unified effort for the growth of the whole congregation, so please be open to being paired with “whomever” based on the times that work for each of us. Since all the parts of the Body need each other (1 Cor 12), there is something for each of us to learn from every other member. Zoom and in-person groups are also possible (indicate below).
These small groups will be focused on “keeping vigil” through Lent, so that our hearts are prepared and open for Holy Week and Easter. There will be one 45-60 minute session after each of the five Sundays in Lent (i.e. March 9, 16, 23, 30 and Apr 6). You are then encouraged to come together with others in your small group, as you are able, to experience Holy Week services together. The week after Easter, there will be one final capstone discussion on the whole experience (for 6 total)
The small groups will connect with this year’s Lenten devotional, “Journey with Jesus” (which you also can do with your family), as well as our Sunday and Wednesday services. Each week you will receive 7 questions from Pastor Clark to stimulate personal reflection and group discussion. NOTE WELL: you still will be able to participate fully each week even if you miss services or devotions – though of course the more you do, the richer the experience will be.
