The News

Whole-Congregation Outreach: Next Step, Sunday May 17 at 9am

On Sunday, Pastor Clark invited everyone to continue practicing the ideas we have introduced. These are not intended to be a “one-time project” but a vision for an ongoing way of life!

PC also invited everyone to come on Sunday, May 17 at 9am. We will discuss what we have experienced so far and what we are thinking about for the summer, and we will pray. There will be no pressure on any one person, but we are sure there will be insights and encouragements that will emerge from the people of God. And if nothing else, we will pray for the Spirit who falls on Pentecost (May 24!) to empower and direct us.

To help prepare,

  • Please make use of this guide and especially the highlighted questions (5 and 11)
  • You might also read the short newspaper article linked below, shared by Lori Borger. It reflects on the joy of turning strangers to friends even just from a general human perspective. It is encouraging but also realistic. Highly recommended!

Summer Worship Schedule BEGINS Sunday, May 24!

Beginning on May 24, we will switch to our Summer Schedule. Divine Worship will begin at 9am. What time does worship begin? On what date? Mark your calendars now! It’s also the Feast of Pentecost, one of the Three Great Days of the liturgical year. Wear red and celebrate the birth of the Church with the sending of the Spirit!

Directory Photos

If you are new or new-ish to St. Peter, please arrange to meet with Renee after worship some Sunday to have a quick pic taken for the directory. If you/your family would like an updated picture, also get with Renee. She’s happy to send you these photos for your own personal use, as well!

Rainforest Falls VBS: June 8-12 / 9-11:30am – **UPDATE – NEW LOCATION!!!!**
Sorry for the unexpected change, but VBS will be at St. Paul’s SB this year, instead of at RLA. The address is 51490 Laurel Road, SB 46637. Nothing else is changing – the dates, times, and program will be as previously advertised. Thank you to St. Paul’s for hosting this year!

REGISTRATION for VBS
Register here. If you have questions about the week or registering a participant, please contact Krista Hunt at rlavbsinfo@gmail.com or 574 339 5479.

WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS! We are especially in need of group leaders (no planning or teaching involved), station leaders for our preschool area, and people to join our decorating crew for June 5-7. There are other options as well, but those are our greatest needs. You can sign up here to volunteer or contact Melissa Luster-Bartz mlusterbartz@rlasouthbend.com.

We are also COLLECTING PAPER TOWEL (or other similar/longer) tubes. You can bring your donations to the laundry basket in the Sunday School area.

There is an AMAZON WISH LIST with some items on it as well.  You can find that list here.

Sunday School Lessons

Parents (and prayer partners, too!), check here each week for what your children will be hearing about in Sunday School.

We hope you’ll join us May 17 for the FINAL WEEK of Sunday School until fall!

17 May (Unit 3 Lesson 14) – Today, students study “A Returning Truth.” Banished to the island of Patmos, John receives a revelation of the new heaven and new earth. In this climax to the Book of Revelation, John describes the indescribable—the Lamb of God in His glory with His people in their eternal home. As a family, you could discuss, “How does God reassure us concerning His return on the Last Day?”

Thank You – and Thanks be to God

Sunday Servants Gather Before Worship

All who help lead the Divine Service gather promptly at 10:05am to take 3 minutes to prepare their hearts and minds for worship. If you are serving as altar guild, usher, crucifer/acolyte, lector, greeter, tech person, elder, musician/dancer, doorkeeper or other HEART member, etc. on a particular Sunday, please come together for quick introductions and short prayer led by Deaconess Amy Smessaert. Together, we will ask God to bless our service to God’s people as we live connected in spiritual formation in Christ.
