Sunday Morning 9am Bible Study: Starting 3 Weeks on Zephaniah

This Sunday we begin a succinct, three-week study of the three chapters of Zephaniah. Come be challenged and encouraged by Zephaniah’s proclamation of the judgment and mercy of God!

The Holy Land: Holy Week Presentation PLUS New Extras!

On Palm Sunday, Anna Leeper presented pictures and stories from sites in the Holy Land important to Holy Week. But she also had other great material she didn’t get to share. She graciously has created two video presentations, one on the Holy Land material and one on the “extras.” Each includes an audio voiceover explanation. Please take advantage of this excellent opportunity to learn more about the setting of so much of Scripture and the story of Israel and her Messiah, our Lord Jesus. You may view both videos on our member page (same password as posts for this site):

Boxing for Jesus?

Have you heard of the Baraka Bouts, a yearly tournament at Notre Dame where women undergraduates box to raise money for Catholic missions in Uganda? Maggie Eastland, a Junior at ND who has been worshipping with us, has written an interesting first-hand account of the experience that is well worth a read (she’s also editor-in-chief of the ND student newspaper). Check it out here–and be sure to welcome Maggie when you see her!

Anniversary Celebration Service

Our Redeemer Lutheran in South Bend is celebrating 95 years! Join them in worship and celebration on Sunday, April 16 at 3:30pm. Reception to follow.

Hannah’s House Life Grant Project: Time to Sign Up!

We have received final confirmation from Hannah’s House that we are a go for our project this spring! So it is time to schedule two Saturdays that will work best for the most people. We will have jobs for every skill and ability level!

To figure which weeks work best, we will use the “Doodle” website, which helps us instantly see which days get the most responses. Please click the following link and indicate ALL the days that could work for you in May to early June:

Want to support RLA? Consider being an MLEA delegate!

Some delegates to the Michiana Lutheran Education Association (MLEA) serve on the Board. But some serve more as key volunteers at the school and cheerleaders for RLA at St. Peter. Do you feel God tugging on your heart in either direction? Talk to Rob Hunt (MLT Nominations Chair) or Jackie Homann or Brian Ruch (current MLEA President and VP)!

YOUR Help is Needed as an Usher!

The Body of Christ is in need of 2-4 more permanent members on the Usher Team, to make a lighter rotation for everyone and ensure coverage. We also need more families or groups to sign up for a Sunday to help. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity and see Head Usher Matt Rockwell after worship or email him at

“Sunday Startup” for HEART Members – 10am Sundays at the Font

We are re-starting Sunday Startup. This is for the doorkeeper, lector, usher, greeter, and elder for the day–as well as any medical person / EMT or Stephen Minister present. Join us around the font to identify ourselves to each other and pray for the worship service.

Sweets and Serenades

St. Peter is excited to bring back this event to support RLA! Mark your calendar for Friday, April 28! Event cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple. There will be live music, desserts, a wine bar, and a silent auction. We will be auctioning off things from small antiques to Club Sweet for a South Bend Cubs game and many more items. New this year, bidding in the auction will be done using smartphones. Instructions and onsite help will be available, as well as proxy bidding for those who need it.

If you are interested in donating to the silent auction please reach out to Donald Swift at RLA by phone 574-272-2200 or email Sign up under the slat wall to volunteer on the day of the event. Use the QR code or this link to register to attend. See Krista Hunt with questions.

Vacation Bible School

St. Peter is pleased to announce that we will once again help sponsor Vacation Bible School at RLA the week of June 12-16. We are heading to Babylon to witness Daniel’s courage in captivity. Information is available at the slat wall for how to register to volunteer and for children to attend. See Krista Hunt or Melissa Luster-Bartz if you have any questions.

Bring your coffee and pray – for our Grant Application, Overture, Convention, and more

Gather with Deaconess Amy Smessaert at 10am on Sundays for 6-8 minutes of prayer for St. Peter, Pastor Clark, and the Church. We will pray for our Renewal Grant application and our Overture but also for the wider health and mission of the LCMS as we move toward Convention and for the Body of Christ as a whole. Meet in the south end of the sanctuary, by the stairwell.
