VOTERS’ Assembly

Please plan to stay after worship THIS SUNDAY, June 2, for our Voters’ Assembly. It might not quite be as fast as the 6-minute meeting in February, but President Brian Reedstrom will do his best to keep it moving along. We have some officers to elect, and some other items to consider. Any questions, please see Brian.

St. Peter Pilgrimages & Renewal
(Lilly Grant)

NOTE to Pilgrimage Coordinators

As the weather turns warmer, more pilgrimages are being finalized. This is GREAT! Please remember to submit a Pilgrimage Update Form as pilgrimage dates are set and groups confirmed.

And, if you are looking for a few more folks to join your pilgrimage, consider placing that invitation in these announcements. Information is due to Renee in the church office by 10am Thursdays.

One more thing – if you have completed a pilgrimage, remember to:

  • Submit photos to office@splcm.org.
  • Ask everyone in your group to complete a pilgrimage Connection Stories Form (available online or on the slat wall).
  • Complete a Reimbursement Form on the slat wall

Update on SPLC Local Pilgrimages

  • Pilgrimage in Cinema – Fri., May 31
  • Fishing Pilgrimage with the Schroeders – Sat., June 8
  • Labyrinth Pilgrimages – Small groups are visiting area labyrinths through mid-July.

Let us pray: Loving God, we thank You for the gift of this Year of Renewal at St. Peter, and for the opportunities pilgrimages provide to live connected with You and with one another. Send your Holy Spirit with those on various pilgrimages, especially the Pilgrimage in Cinema and the Fishing Pilgrimage, that they experience the joy of Your presence and the joy of fellowship. Bless these groups of pilgrims, keep them safely in Your care, and refresh their spirits. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Hannah’s House Yard Clean-up

Confirmands and youth group: we are planning a yard clean-up day at Hannah’s House for the afternoon of Sunday, June 2. Please let Matt Rockwell or Brian Ruch know if you plan to attend. Others are more than welcome to volunteer also! Just speak to Matt or Brian.

Opportunity in Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is seeking additional leaders (one or two). The time commitment is a few hours a month; the responsibilities are split up among team members.

We seek and prepare new Stephen Ministers, work with potential care receivers, provide supervision and continuing education, and make others aware of the ministry. Interested? Talk to Amy Smessaert or Vickie Hess.

Sunday Servants Gather Before Worship

All who help lead the Divine Service will gather for 5 minutes by the font at 10 a.m. to prepare their hearts and minds for worship. If you are serving as altar guild, usher, crucifer/acolyte, lector, greeter, tech person, elder, musician/dancer, doorkeeper or other HEART member, etc. on a particular Sunday, please come together for quick introductions and short prayer led by Deaconess Amy Smessaert. Together, we will ask God to bless our service to God’s people as we live connected in spiritual formation in Christ. All confirmands and parents are encouraged to participate, whether or not you are serving on that Sunday.

Pick Your Next Usher Date!

Thanks to everyone who has served as an usher or part of an usher team. It’s time to pick another date to serve! Please sign up on the Sunday Servants sheet on the slat wall. You can see the specific list of duties, with video demos, here. A veteran usher will assist you and teach you one extra duty beyond communion each time you serve.
