St. Peter Pilgrimages & Renewal
(Lilly Grant)

Update on SPLC Local Pilgrimages

  • Pilgrimage in Cinema – Fri., June 21
  • Labyrinth Pilgrimages – Small groups are visiting area labyrinths through mid-July

Let us pray: Loving God, we thank You for the gift of this Year of Renewal at St. Peter, and for the opportunities pilgrimages provide to live connected with You and with one another. Send your Holy Spirit with those on various pilgrimages, especially the Pilgrimage in Cinema and the Labyrinth Pilgrimages, that they experience the joy of Your presence and the joy of fellowship. Bless these groups of pilgrims, keep them safely in Your care, and refresh their spirits. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Pilgrimage Reminders:

  • Fill out Pilgrimage Update Forms as you set dates for your pilgrimages. This helps us know when to lift your group in prayer.
    • Take photos of your group on pilgrimage and submit them to Renee at office@splcm.org
    • Take a couple of minutes after your pilgrimage to complete the brief Connection Stories form, using the paper form on the slat wall or the online form via the Renewal tab on the SPLC website.
    • Pilgrimage coordinators, please complete a reimbursement form for expenses. Reimbursement forms are available on the slat wall.
    • Note: All completed paper forms can be placed in the clear box on the table by the slat wall section on pilgrimages.

P.S. We want everyone to experience this once in a lifetime renewal opportunity! Need help? Have questions? Contact us: Amy Smessaert at amyhsmessaert@gmail.com or Brian and Jill Reedstrom brianreedstrom@gmail.com jcreedstrom@gmail.com, and Chuck and Paula Ryan CharlesRyan9036@aol.com. We are happy to help (but you need to let us know 😊)!

Ministry Updates and Opportunities

Opportunity in Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is seeking additional leaders (one or two). The time commitment is a few hours a month; the responsibilities are split up among team members.

We seek and prepare new Stephen Ministers, work with potential care receivers, provide supervision and continuing education, and make others aware of the ministry. Interested? Talk to Amy Smessaert or Vickie Hess.

Sunday Servants Gather Before Worship

With the summer worship schedule in place, all who help lead the Divine Service will now gather promptly at 8:50am to take 3 minutes to prepare their hearts and minds for worship. If you are serving as altar guild, usher, crucifer/acolyte, lector, greeter, tech person, elder, musician/dancer, doorkeeper or other HEART member, etc. on a particular Sunday, please come together for quick introductions and short prayer led by Deaconess Amy Smessaert. Together, we will ask God to bless our service to God’s people as we live connected in spiritual formation in Christ. All confirmands and parents are encouraged to participate, whether or not you are serving on that Sunday.

Pick Your Next Usher Date!

Thanks to everyone who has served as an usher or part of an usher team. It’s time to pick another date to serve! Please sign up on the Sunday Servants sheet on the slat wall. You can see the specific list of duties, with video demos, here. A veteran usher will assist you and teach you one extra duty beyond communion each time you serve.
