Eastertide Tea – Women of St. Peter

If you are a woman of the congregation, high school or older, you are invited to attend an Eastertide Tea at the home of Jackie Homann, Sunday, May 17 at 3pm. The program will focus on getting to know our fellow sisters in Christ! Sign-up sheet under the slat wall -please RSVP no later than 5/10. See Jackie, or Amy Smessaert, with questions.

Whole-Congregation Outreach Focus Continues this Sunday

This Sunday, Pastor Clark will have a final set of “Big Ideas” to share in the sermon, along with an indication of where we’re going next.

Catch up on what you’ve missed:

Lost and Found

Does any of these items look familiar? Pick up what’s yours on Sunday!

Bicycle Safety – today!!!

Our Cub Scout Pack will host a bicycle safety event on TONIGHT, April 30, from 6:30-8pm in the church parking lot. Kids of the congregation can feel free to bring their bikes and join in!

We do need some additional adult volunteers to help everyone stay safe in the parking lot. Give Dave Gurnee a heads-up if you’re able to give us a hand.

Adult Sunday Study (9am): John’s Gospel and Letters

St. Augustine, Martin Luther, and Billy Graham all point to John’s Gospel as the first bible book everyone should read and know well. Yet while the other three Gospels each get their own year in our Sunday lectionary, John is only woven in among them in bits and pieces. Join us Sunday mornings at 9am as we put together the whole picture – and see how it transforms our lives and our worship of the Lord. Bring your bible (or use ours) and a notebook if desired. Sewing Group Needs Sheets!

Thank you SO MUCH to those who have donated sheets and other fabric! We are constantly in need and so grateful for your contributions.

If you have old or unused bed sheets, please bring them to the sewing ladies! They can use any size, flat or fitted. They prefer cotton or cotton-poly, but any sheet will be gratefully accepted. See Nancy Kroll with questions. And thank you so much!

Rainforest Falls VBS: June 8-12 / 9-11:30am – **UPDATENEW LOCATION!!!!**
Sorry for the unexpected change, but VBS will be at St. Paul’s SB this year, instead of at RLA. The address is 51490 Laurel Road, SB 46637. Nothing else is changing – the dates, times, and program will be as previously advertised. Thank you to St. Paul’s for hosting this year!

EARLY REGISTRATION for VBS closes TODAY!!!!
Early registration (which includes a free t-shirt) is open only through tonight, April 30. Register here. If you have questions about the week or registering a participant, please contact Krista Hunt at rlavbsinfo@gmail.com or 574 339 5479.

WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS! We are especially in need of group leaders (no planning or teaching involved), station leaders for our preschool area, and people to join our decorating crew for June 5-7. There are other options as well, but those are our greatest needs. You can sign up here to volunteer or contact Melissa Luster-Bartz mlusterbartz@rlasouthbend.com

We are also COLLECTING PAPER TOWEL (or other similar/longer) tubes. You can bring your donations to the laundry basket in the Sunday School area.

There is an AMAZON WISH LIST with some items on it as well.  You can find that list here.

Sunday School Lessons

Parents (and prayer partners, too!), check here each week for what your children will be hearing about in Sunday School.

3 May (Unit 3 Lesson 9) – “A Telling Truth” is the Bible lesson for this week. With the sound of a rushing wind and tongues of fire, the promised Holy Spirit descends on the disciples. As they speak “in other tongues” (Acts 2:4), their hearers, from a multitude of nations, hear about “the mighty works of God” (v. 11) in their own languages. Beginning with Old Testament prophecies, Peter’s sermon proclaims Jesus, the promised Messiah. Discuss, “How did Pentecost change the Church forever?”

Thank You – and Thanks be to God
